Displaying significant pieces from the Art Nouveau collection of the Badishches Landesmuseum in Karlsruhe, the Benaki Museum presents significant pieces from France, Germany, Austria, England and Belgium.

Textiles, jewellery, tableware, decorative objects, furniture, prints, ceramics, reliefs and sculptures, designed by famous artists and designers including, Αlfons Mucha, Hector Guimard, Daum Frères, Emile Gallé, Peter Behrens, Josef Hoffmann, Josef Maria Olbrich, Koloman Moser and Henry van de Velde, provides a closer look at the complex nature of the Art Nouveau style.

Art Nouveau is an international style of art, architecture and applied art, especially the decorative arts, that was most popular between 1890 and 1910. A reaction to the academic art of the 19th century, it was inspired by natural forms and structures, particularly the curved lines of plants and flowers.
