Where: Southern Athens, 20km from the city centre
Why Stay: For luxury, views and a seaside location
We Loved: Waking up to the crystal blue waters of the Saronic Gulf

Arion Resort and Spa is a gated Athens hotel situated within the famed Astir Palace complex in Vouliagmeni, 20 kilometres outside of central Athens. If you want to feel you’ve landed on a remote island, this is the part of Athens to be in.

The resort is perfect if you’re planning a sun, sand and food escape with an array of restaurants including one by Nobu Matsuhisa. Sightseeing in central Athens, requires some effort and you will be limited to day trips, as Astir Palace is approximately a 30 minute drive each way but waking up to the crystal blue waters of the Saronic Gulf and the hotel’s private beach will make it all seem worth it.
