British-Australian band Dead Can Dance comes to the Odeon of Herodes Atticus performing their extensive repertoire of mesmerising sounds as part of this year’s Athens and Epidaurus Festival.
Dead Can Dance has stood out for its avant-garde musical style drawing inspiration from nature and traditional music from around the world. Described as a fusion of neoclassical dark wave, art rock and ambient pop, their last two album titles, Anastasis and Dionysus draws influence from Greek mythology and storytelling.
The duo, Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, will perform a special programme for this single performance in Athens with songs never before performed on stage, as well as reworked tracks from their early years. They will also explore the myth of Dionysus, from their latest album Dionysus (2018).
