Jazz lovers can head to Gazarte in May to hear Norwegian jazz guitarist, Lage Lund perform with Joe Sanders on bass and Gregory Hutchinson on drums. The trio’s performances continue to leave their mark on the modern jazz music scene.
Lund is recognized as one of the best guitarists of his generation and one of the most exciting jazz artists worldwide. He has been a fixture in New York’s jazz clubs since relocating there and has performed at larger venues including the Kennedy Center, Blues Alley among others. He has worked with a variety of established musicians including Carmen Lundy and Eric Revis.
THE VENUE
Gazarte is a multi-level creative space located in Gazi, a short drive from the centre of Athens that regularly hosts live performances on their rooftop terrace that has Acropolis views and a panoramic outlook over Athens. It also presents large concerts on their main stage. The surrounding area of Gazi is also worth exploring, with a great mix of street food, restaurants and bars that remain open until late.
