Rising stars in opera will perform on the main stage of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) as part of the International Maria Callas Grand Prix which returns for its 40th year.
This final performances on December 10 follow a week long demanding program where young laureates of the Maria Callas Grand Prix sing their hearts out in front of a panel of industry heavy weights.
It is a platform to not only discover new talent but for artists to prepare themselves for the high standards required in an international career in opera. Participants must present an extensive repertoire with dynamic personality and stage presence.
Members of the jury will consist of international personalities in music from Greece and overseas. This final stage of the competition which is open to the public is the critical component of the event, attended by agents, opera artistic directors and other industry professionals who will decide on whether to take on new talent. Cash prizes are also awarded.
