Why Go:
The Maria Callas Greek Society presents a musical evening celebrating Maria Callas’ 92nd birthday. Callas was an American-born Greek soprano and one of the most renowned and influential opera singers of the 20th century. Critics praised her ‘bel-canto’ technique, wide-ranging voice and dramatic interpretations.
This commemorative event, Maria Callas Forever, will include performances from notable Greek sopranos, contraltos and pianists who will present arias that were originally performed by Callas.
Held at the Theocharakis Foundation’s amphitheatre, cocktails will be served at the end of the event with proceeds going towards the completion of the Maria Callas Museum on Mitropoleos Street.
