A tribute concert dedicated to the late Greek composer and former politician Thanos Mikroutsikos will be performed beneath the slopes of the Acropolis at the iconic theatre, Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
Notable Greek vocalists and musicians will come together for a spellbinding concert that will honour Mikroutsikos’ music of for one night only in September.
Performers will include: Giorgos Dalaras, Yiannis Kotsiras, Miltos Paschalidis and Rita Antonopoulou, under the supervision of Mikroutsikos’ closest collaborator, Thymios Papadopoulos, all performing his great hits. Romantic, lyrical, popular and political songs that brought together three generations and formed an entire era of music.
Audiences will embark on an emotional musical journey through songs, choral parts and compositions originally written for theatre, for plays by Bertolt Brecht, Nazim Hikmet or poems by Yannis Ritsos, Nikos Kavadias, Odysseus Ioannou and others.
