SAVAPILE, handmade Greek hats

43

Down a small alley way in Psirri (close to Monastiraki) will lead you to the hidden millinery workshop of Savapile that began in 1960 making handmade Greek fisherman’s caps. Today it is led by creative hat maker Lisa Sarigiannidou who inherited the business and the love of hat making from her father.

Wholesaling to shops around Athens as well as exporting naval hats to America, Lisa somehow has the time to offer a bespoke service direct to the public and can also ship special orders overseas. Ascot anyone? Your perfectly fitted hat will be hand sewn and customised in your choice of colour, ribbons and trimmings. Choose from Panamas, boaters or the humble straw hat. Adorable mini versions for kids.
