Popular with locals and visitors to Athens, there is a delicious tasting menu to compliment the beer list, which changes according to the season. Produce is local and fresh. The friendly staff at Barley Cargo are eager to share something distinctive about each of the beers and the three litre pouring canisters are a popular choice for groups or to settle in with for a lazy afternoon.

Open crates are stacked high to display rows and rows of beers and aluminium kegs hold up the table tops, giving the sense that you could very well be in cargo, surrounded by beer – not a bad feeling at all.

A lively and fun venue with regular live music acts along with what they like to call “exbeeriences” which include beer tastings hosted by local breweries around Greece. Open seven days until late, if you don’t have time to stay for a pint, they also operate as a pseudo bottle shop, allowing you to take home a few bottles to try… which means you’ll very likely be back again for more.
