Cookoovaya opened its doors in late 2014 as the brainchild of five esteemed Athenian chefs and is now a staple of the Greek dining scene. With its open plan kitchen and upscale modern dining room, this is one of the restaurants in Athens setting new trends in food and service.
It’s an adventurous menu that revitalises familiar dishes, without losing any authenticity or Greek flavour. The menu at Cookoovaya is divided into cooking methods such as ‘in a saucepan and casserole’ or ‘on a skewer’ and most dishes are designed to share, Greek style.
Dishes include charred fresh octopus with fava beans or minced beef pie served with organic egg and yogurt. The Giouvetsi (traditional orzo) served with beef spare ribs is delicious.
