To see popular arias accompanied by ballet
As part of this year’s cultural collaboration with Russia, arias from the world’s best-loved operas will be performed by Russian soloists from the Mariinsky Theatre of St Petersburg to ballet accompaniment.
The opera gala will feature solo ballet dancers Sofia Gumerova and Igor Kolb. Arias from Rigoletto, La Traviata, The Barber of Seville, among others are on the program with performances by soprano Olga Trifonova, mezzo soprano Elena Tsvetkova, and tenors Yevgeny Akimov and Daniil Shtoda.
The Mariinsky’s Gavriel Heine leads the Athens State Orchestra.
