Why Go:
Athens presents Peter Lindbergh, a collection of iconic photographs and work spanning 30 years. The exhibition is a testament to his impact on the world of fashion photography and his contribution to portraiture in general.
Considered a true pioneer in photography, Lindbergh introduced a new form of realism and redefined the standards of beauty. His humanist approach and idealisation of women made him one of the most renowned fashion photographers, shooting countless campaigns for major fashion brands including Giorgio Armani and Prada. His portraits of celebrities and supermodels from Madonna, Mick Jagger, Naomi Campbell and many others are timeless.
“Isn’t art about breaking rules, about challenging existing systems; isn’t it about discovering meaning in things or situations before others see anything in them?” —Peter Lindbergh
