BREATH – Solo piano by Thodoris Economou

Where: National Observatory of Athens
When: 18 – 20 June 2019
Why Go: Piano beneath the stars

Greek pianist, theatre and film composer Thodoris Economou, invites us to an improvisation under the stars – a startling soundscape drawing on minimal music, classical music, jazz and traditional music. The composition seeks to bring out the ‘truth’ at the core of each and every moment and is structured as absolute freedom of movement. A universe made of the stuff of dreams. Improvisation means different things to different people. For Thodoris Economou, improvisation is primarily a game; a tender game, painting a picture of our silence.
