Ithaki

Where: Vouliagmeni
Why Go: For the seaside dining experience
We Loved: The piano player that added to the seductive ambience

The seaside location overlooking the Saronic Gulf is truly magical and is fitting for one of the best Vouliagmeni restaurants. Ithaki provides a large outdoor area to dine al fresco in summer and appreciate the view.

With an impressive list of visiting celebrities including Bill Clinton and Sean Connery, Ithaki is one of the better established restaurants in Athens where many Athenians dine to impress special guests.

The Mediterranean menu is infused with French and Japanese influences and you will be spoilt for choice with sushi platters and black cod marinated in miso on offer or the Chateaubriand for two.

Stopping by to enjoy a pre-dinner drink or cheese platter before sunset could be equally enjoyable without having to go all the way with the menu.

With a well-stocked wine cellar the very knowledgeable sommelier is on hand for suggestions.

Ithaki is popular with patrons staying in the upmarket hotels nearby which are within walking distance. The food is of a consistently high standard however the service can sometimes be a little slow.

It is a pleasant retreat out of the city centre and ideal for a long lunch or dinner.
